Since 20’、starting up from the hexagonal split bamboo fly and lure rods, we have been making the best use of the traditional rod designing methods.

Eging Rod "Sakura Venus Beluga" （ベルーガ）
To aim for desirable “jumbo squids”, there are some important factors. Because they tend to be around 10～20m deep, your jerk must overcome the heavy resistance of seawater, and give the “egi lure” sharpest jump actions. Light rods maybe so handy to use, however, deep down in the sea, they are not powerful enough to give the “egi” idealistic movements.  Thick and tough blanks of “Sakura Venus Beluga” and its three level adjustable balancer weights utilize the principle of lever to emphasize super sharp jerks.  Indeed, showing the very sudden disappearance of “egi”eagarly allures the instinct of squids. Consecutively, moreover, the extra stiff butt section forcibly hooks up the game even through its fierce hug of the heavy weight of its body. We have chosen a little longer 8ft for anglers whose fields are sometimes with various obstacles such as tetra pods, bush or seaweed.

“Sakura Aglaia 66H-WBT” is designed for fishing trouts in very cold areas or periods.  To prevent guides from being iced, diameters of rings are somewhat bigger than typical guide system.  Valuable games must be caught one by one firmly because of its action by one & half ferrule with very short grip （almost like one piece）.  Icy-cold reel foot fit and can be covered by thin cork part of the Sakura original “Hilt grip”, so cold bare hands can stand freezing weathers.  Sakura original plasma titanium guides colored in "purple" (instead of standard cobalt blue color) especially gleam in a cloudy day.

・Fly rod shown above is a proto type. Two piece rod designed in staggered ferrule (shorter #2 section with about 4 inch plug cover).  

　
Every fly fisherman dreams of using hand-made hexagonal split bamboo rods... But, one may ask, “Hold on, What is whole cane rod???”.  Yes! this rod is totally different being rooted and remodeled from the original Japanese traditional whole cane or bamboo rods.  Whole cane rods, since these natural materials being “hollow” inside, are much lighter in weight than hexagonal rods.  We must be the only one manufacturer in the world, who can make this rod.  We carefully pick from four kinds of full grown bamboo and cane materials cut from the cultivated fields, which must be kept for 5 to 10 years in our stock room before use.  They are delicately fire finished in Japanese “Binchou” charcoal fire to be lightened, strengthened and straightened.  Then, they are finished with Japanese lacquer paint called Urushi.  These rods are all on a custom order basis with 6 months to a year of delivery time after the order confirmation. About Cane Rod Fire Finish Technique...
This Japanese fire finish technique is originated from arrow craftsmen.  Cane arrow materials must absolutely be light, hard and straight for “Samurai” battles since Kamarura era about 1000 years ago.  The theory is quite simple.  By fire finish, the surface of cane material gets carbonized.  Every craftsman only knows how his own delicate carbonation level must be by sense.  Japanese cane rod craftsmen started to utilize this technique about 220 years ago.  Currently, though there existed countless cane rod craftsmen in Japan, it is quite easy to count the number of professional Japanese cane rod builders. The reality of traditional “art work” is severe along with the rapid development of graphite rod.

The concept of this rod came up with an interesting idea.  One day, one of our rod testers told us that blanks of our trolling rod are so excelled that we should modify the blanks design for “all purpose use”.  In this way, it can be used not only for lake trolling, but also for salmon mooching or short range casting rod.  T-LNSG Fuji guides are thoughtfully balanced out for using fly, bait, and spinning reel depending on the situation.  If you hold this rod, the action feels like a normal trolling rod, but you can notice its entire action is somewhat stiffer.  This stiffness outcomes a potential durability of this rod.

This is the IGFA standard rod.  We have experienced and know that to perform a solid and firm strike led from delicate hook-ups requires torqueful butt power of Sakura original tubular blank. Sea god blank was tested and used by pioneers of billfish fishermen around 60s', and has been updated.  To this day, the blank has been finished with multi-layered glittering metallic wine red.  This painting method not only is a part of its “splendid action”, but also protects your “adorable” rod from strong UV light on shore.  This rod also can be custom-order rod since billfish fishing (including tournaments) is one of severe fishing of all.  Thus, our customers do not have to compromise with regular products.  Please ask us for the detail. After all, anglers enjoy the thrill of the pull.  “Why do not we emphasize it by using the lightest line you can ever imagine?” This rod is aimed to support you for that aspiration.  To achieve it, its designed weight, fineness and balance can even make you feel like the end of the curved butt could break into two pieces (but it does not…). You can choose your favorite type from the chart.  
*(30,40,50) from length column on the chart is Japanese unit of sinker weight.  Please just think of it as L, M, H as shown. This style or concept is now called “Light tackle” fishing style now becoming gradually famous all over in Japan.  This concept was thought out because of the important development of PE (Dyneema) line.  However,  when Maestro Hatorri (shown below) and we first started to advertise in 2004, there was only place who supported us.  Now Japanese fishing tackle companies utilize this concept.  The lighter the tackle system is, the more children, girls, and seniors can also enjoy all day without heavy exhaustion.

Almighty Urashima (With Thorough-ly 〈Sururi〉 Guide)
This rod is particularly named “Almighty Urashima”.  It is specifically made for all kinds of deep-sea and fresh water boat fishing. Its action is the sensitive fast, but when it hits a big game, its butt section moderately bends all the way to its grip, and stops it. This action can only be achieved with this high modern glass and low modulus graphite composite material and the one-and-half in-stick ferrule. The main games in variety are mackerel, cod, grouper, halibut on shore and, giant catfish, sturgeon, 20kg over carp and salmons in freshwater.

There are two Goddess of fishing in Japan.  One is “Ebisu-sama”.  the other is “Urashima Taro”, a Japanese legend of a fisherman.  This rod is named after “Urashima Taro” for good luck in fishing.  There is a link about on “Urashima Taro” below for his reference.

This put over ferrule “hera” (Japanese crucian carp) rod is the most powerful type of our “hera” rod series. Tightly plied high modulus graphite blanks endure even unthinkable hit of carp.  So, this mighty rod popularly is used at the natural lakes, ponds, and rivers where all kinds of fish coexist. Line is up to 6lb.  It is finished with chic Japanese traditional “Hera” rod style, called “段巻き”(intermediate painting).  It is thoroughly painted cane-like coloring, and accented with multiple black colored belts on the top.   Raiden meaning thunder blast was named after a famous “sumo” wrestler  雷電爲右エ門 (Tameemon Raiden).  He is well known  and called as an undefeatable fighter.

This rod is one of the most luxurious rod of all. Our “hera” rod designer accomplished this ideal action few decades ago.  Its taste is so swell that our customers sometimes favor more than traditional cane rod.  One fish by one fish... Its extra smooth bending curve gradually bends back just by holding it upward. By the moment you realize this excellent action of material, your fish imperceptibly is already caught in your landing net.  Time of delivery usually takes about 6 months to year. Gold leaf, ivory, and thread-like fine rattan are used for traditional decoration.  Our top class craftsman carefully repeats painting and polishing with dear horn powder back and forth to finish “段巻き” (intermediate tying and painting) pattern on the body.  Exceptionally, its first section also has this delicate pattern and decoration of about one hundred fine lines as shown above picture.  To just give you a broad idea, below picture shows typical “hera” fishing style.

This is the fresh water coarse telescopic pole used mainly for carp.  Especially, the main blanks of longer rods are made with abundant highest modulus graphite for the total weight balance.  Its parabolic action is not so stiff but strong that also stop vigorous runs of the games such as piranha, tilapia, snakehead, catfish, and giant char.  Grips of shorter length up to 6.3m are single hand “Hera” style. After 6.3m, for longer the heavier, grips from 7.2 to 9.2m are double-handed fighting grip, which is finished with non-slip coating.  When an optional item of fighting butt cap is set onto its butt to the belly or thigh, it will absorb the damage.

This is a luxurious hand-made ice fishing rod used mainly in a Japanese dorm house boat or ice hut fishing on lakes in winter.  So, the standard guide set looks smaller for being used in ice surface.  No worry, this rod is also custom order basis as all other bamboo or cane rods.  Diameters of tip end are the same, so you can choose any kind of tips.  Glass tip is a little bit stiffer than “Soft Carbon” tip.  Since the “Soft Carbon” tip is so delicate, it mostly is used with a “Kui” type grip.  “Kui”, our earliest substitute reel, is the triple bridges in the below picture.  Though, in this primitive system, leader is obviously wound around “Kui”, there also is a reason why we still are into it.  It is because once you spot the exact hitting depth, all you have to do is to wind with hand, take your fish off, and release your sinker in a hole.  And, it quickly gets back to your favorite depth with no effort.  Our experts usually do not use reel because it is too time consuming for them.  .  The original rod can be designed and manufactured one by one.
